Traverse Fitness is Coming to the Highlands
After nearly 6 years of building the strongest fitness community in Denver at our South Broadway location, we’re expanding north. Coming early 2026, Traverse Fitness is opening a second location in Denver’s Highlands neighborhood, and we’re bringing everything you love about training with us, plus a few new surprises.
A Neighborhood Built on Grit
The Highlands has always been a place for people who show up and put in the work.
In the 1850s, early settlers moved here to escape the smoke and chaos of downtown Denver, choosing fresh air and open space over convenience. By the 1880s, streetcars connected the neighborhood to the rest of the city, shaping the tight grid of streets and front porches you see today. Italian immigrants arrived in the 1890s, building the Queen Anne and Craftsman homes that still line these blocks. They opened corner markets, raised families, and created a culture rooted in hard work and community.
Through the decades, the Highlands has evolved and we’re honored to add our own chapter to that story. Traverse is built on the same principles that shaped the Highlands: community, effort, and showing up for what matters. This isn’t just a new location. It’s us planting roots in a neighborhood that gets it.
What's Inside
Our Highlands location is designed to give you everything you need under one roof. Whether you’re training for an upcoming event, hitting reset with active recovery, or have been searching for your third place, we are building this space with our members in mind.
Fitness Programmed to Deliver
The Arena
Get comfortable with pushing your limits. Arena is our new all-out hybrid training studio, designed to bring gameday energy to every workout and test your speed, strength, and endurance. In this purpose-built space, expect powerful intervals, loaded movements, and full-body conditioning with Concept2 SkiErgs, turf drills, treadmill runs, and functional weightlifting. Arena is the perfect combination of strategic programming, high-energy coaching, and a performance-driven environment to bring out the best in you.
Open Gym
Your program. Your pace. Your new performance space. The reimagined open gym concept at Traverse is available to members who want to get in extra reps after class or simply need access to world-class equipment on their own schedule. With PLAE slat treadmills, Concept2 Ergs, fully-equipped lifting platforms, and an 8-stack multi-cable system, Open Gym gives you everything you need to lift heavy, move fast, and train with intention. And because this is Traverse, you’re never just working out alone; you’re surrounded by the same community-driven energy and support that defines every corner of our studios.
Personal Training
Tailored coaching that meets you exactly where you are and gets you where you want to go. Choose between one-on-one coaching for maximum personalization or small group training that brings the same level of attention with added accountability and camaraderie. Every session is designed for your specific goals by a coach who understands your body, challenges, and ambitions. Build strength, support recovery from an injury, or train for an upcoming event with a coach who works just as hard as you do.
Wellness to Revitalize Your Mind and Body
Heated Movement Studio
Your new home for Core, Flow, Bodywork, and Burn. In an infrared heated studio, this is where sweat meets recovery. Expect classes that challenge, strengthen, and restore to build control and improve mobility.
- Core: A full-body class focused on strength, stability, and flexibility using targeted mobility drills.
- Flow: A mobility-driven, yoga-inspired class centered on balance, flexibility, and breathwork.
- Bodywork: Guided active recovery using foam rolling, Myofascial release, and intentional breath to movement.
- Burn: A dynamic, high-energy class that fuses precision movements with the fun of a full-body sweat.
Sauna + Cold Plunge & Guided Thermotherapy
This is where recovery meets performance. Our Thermotherapy space is built to help you reset your body, sharpen your mind, and elevate your training from the inside out. Step into our 36-person sauna, crafted from Thermory Alder Black Wood and Red Western Cedar, powered by Harvia heaters that reach up to 190°F. Here, you’ll find more than warmth; you’ll find focus, intention, and calm.
The experience continues with three Odin Tubs: two cold plunges kept between 40–50°F and one hot tub maintained at 98–100°F. Together, heat and cold work in harmony to improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and boost recovery.
In addition to open sauna access, Traverse members can join Guided Thermotherapy classes designed to help you take your recovery and wellness practice even deeper. These 50-minute instructor-led sessions combine contrast therapy, structured breathwork, and a blend of movement and mindfulness practices to regulate your nervous system, strengthen mental resilience, and improve focus. Some classes emphasize mobility and yoga-inspired movement, while others center on meditation, breath control, and visualization. Each guided experience blends science-backed recovery with intentional practice so you leave feeling clear, recharged, and ready for what’s next.
Thermotherapy is not just about recovery; it’s a training tool for the body and mind that helps you perform better in every area of your life.
Recovery Tools
At Traverse, your recovery is just as important as your training. Our dedicated recovery area is equipped with NormaTec compression systems, Theraguns, foam rollers, bands, and a full suite of mobility tools to help you restore movement and relieve tension between sessions.
New to the Highlands, we are introducing state-of-the-art HydroMassage 440G3 chairs, offering a fully customizable water-pressure massage experience that enhances circulation, reduces soreness, and delivers deep relaxation.
We’re also adding Hyperice heated and cold therapy wraps, including the Venom and Hyperice X series, designed to deliver precise temperature control that speeds recovery, reduces stiffness, and improves joint health. Whether you’re winding down after a class or preparing for your next session, every tool here is designed to keep you performing and feeling your best.
The Third Place You've Been Looking For
Community
A core mission of Traverse is to create a space that offers more than just fitness. We have forged the strongest member community by celebrating wins, pushing through challenges, and building lasting relationships that extend far beyond the studio. These meaningful connections are made within our walls through regular events, member perks, and group trips that go beyond a post-workout high-five. Community isn’t a buzzword here, it’s the foundation of everything we do.
Cowork
More than just desks and Wi-Fi, our cowork space is a space designed for productivity, energy, and connection. Swap the isolation of WFH with a social, uplifting environment filled with people who share your drive. Our members do not have a need to scatter their day across multiple locations; fitness, recovery, work, and community live here together.
