Assistant General Manager

The Assistant General Manager is the operational heartbeat of the Club. While the General Manager focuses on sales, strategy, and community growth, the AGM ensures that every day runs seamlessly. From staffing and inventory to retail, events, and a flawless Member experience on the floor, this role keeps the Club operating at a high level.

You'll spend very little time behind a desk. Instead, you'll be walking the Club, supporting your team, solving problems, running point on club initiatives, and making sure every Member walks into a space that feels clean, organized, welcoming, and cared for.

If you love organization, thrive in fast-paced environments, take pride in beautiful spaces, are energized by exceptional service, and naturally notice the details others miss, this role is for you.

What you'll do

Own the daily operations of the Club

You'll oversee the day-to-day execution that keeps Traverse running smoothly.

  • Ensure all spaces are clean, stocked, and Member-ready
  • Complete regular facility walkthroughs, with floor walks every 30 minutes
  • Notice and flag maintenance needs right away so they get resolved quickly
  • Create and improve operational systems and processes
  • Maintain organization throughout the Club
  • Anticipate operational needs before they become problems
  • Support the Front Desk team during busy periods

Lead Front Desk operations

You'll oversee the Front Desk team and make sure every shift is properly staffed and supported.

  • Build and manage the Front Desk schedule in NetGym, checked daily
  • Shift your own schedule to fill in and cover shifts when needed
  • Find coverage and adjust schedules based on business needs
  • Train, coach, and support Front Desk staff
  • Maintain service standards, creating accountability while fostering a positive team culture
  • Lead by example on the floor, always

Manage Club inventory

You'll make sure the Club has everything it needs to run efficiently, with inventory that's organized and accounted for.

  • Cold case: inventory, ordering, and supplies
  • Merch: inventory tracking and organization
  • Coffee station, towels, cleaning supplies, studio wipes, and sanitation products
  • Retail, office, restroom, and general operational supplies
  • Order inventory and organize storage areas
  • Track monthly inventory and monitor shrink and waste

Oversee retail + cold case presentation

You'll manage the presentation, organization, and inventory of all in-Club retail offerings.

  • Maintain retail displays and organize backstock
  • Track apparel inventory and complete monthly counts
  • Manage cold case ordering and monitor product rotation and freshness
  • Work closely with the Head of Merch Ops to keep the Club stocked, organized, and visually on-brand

Manage Club systems, signage + events

You'll keep the Club's day-to-day systems and on-the-ground event execution running smoothly.

  • Own Posterbooking and in-club signage for events and club initiatives
  • Manage MarianaTek updates and changes as needed
  • Run events start to finish, logistically, including setup, staffing, and on-site coordination, while the GM attends and helps sell

Support facilities awareness

Facility vendor relationships and major projects sit with the GM, but you're the first line of sight.

  • Notice and report maintenance issues as they come up
  • Support day-to-day tidiness and safety across the Club
  • Communicate repair needs promptly to the GM

Foster floor-level Member + team experience

You help create the community that keeps Members and staff connected, from the floor.

  • Build genuine relationships and greet Members by name
  • Resolve day-to-day Member concerns with care
  • Own staff celebrations: anniversaries, milestones, and birthdays
  • Help create memorable, cared-for moments every single shift

How your day is structured

  • Tasks first: checklist review, inventory checks, and NetGym scheduling happen early
  • Floor walk every 30 minutes, all shift
  • GM floats in to support the floor and Front Desk during peak hours
  • Signage, events, and inventory work happen in dedicated blocks, not squeezed in

Who you are

You're someone who gets genuine satisfaction from making things run better. You notice the empty towel shelf before anyone else. You reorganize spaces because you know they'll work more efficiently. You love creating systems, checking things off your list, and helping a team succeed.

  • Thrive in organized environments and are proactive instead of reactive
  • Love solving operational challenges and can balance multiple priorities at once
  • Lead with humility and accountability
  • Communicate clearly with both team members and the GM
  • Notice the small details that elevate an experience
  • Take ownership without waiting to be asked
  • Enjoy coaching and supporting others
  • Believe hospitality is found in the details

Success in this role means the Club simply works.

  • Every shift is staffed and supported
  • Members walk into a clean, organized, fully stocked environment every day
  • Inventory is accurate and well-managed monthly
  • Retail displays are inviting and maintained
  • Signage and events run on time and on brand
  • Facility issues are flagged quickly and clearly
  • Front Desk staff feel supported, coached, and empowered
  • Members stay because they feel connected to a Club that consistently exceeds expectations

  • Plus sales performance commission
  • Complimentary Traverse membership
  • Monthly and semi-annual performance evaluations
