Front Desk / Member Experience

At Traverse, we believe every interaction matters.

As a Traverse Front Desk employee, you're far more than the person behind the front desk. You're the first smile someone sees after a hard day, the reason a first-time visitor feels like they belong, and the person who notices when a Member hasn't been in for a week.

This role is equal parts hospitality, sales, operations, and community-building.

If you love connecting with people, thrive in a fast-paced environment, take pride in creating beautiful spaces, and genuinely enjoy making someone's day a little better, we'd love to meet you.

What you'll do

Create incredible first impressions

You'll welcome every person who walks through our doors with warmth, energy, and authenticity. Whether it's a first-time visitor or a Member you've seen hundreds of times, you'll make every interaction feel personal.

  • Greet Members by name whenever possible
  • Check Members into classes
  • Welcome first-time guests and help calm their nerves
  • Give engaging Club tours
  • Answer questions confidently
  • Celebrate birthdays, milestones, PRs, and life events
  • Help every person feel like they belong here

Build relationships that drive retention

Our Members stay because they feel connected. You'll be responsible for building genuine relationships that create community, not just transactions.

  • Learn Members' names
  • Check in on absent Members
  • Follow up with new Members
  • Celebrate wins
  • Solve problems before they become frustrations
  • Create memorable experiences every shift

Help people find their membership home

We're passionate about helping people find the right fit. You'll learn our Membership options, promotions, programming, and Club offerings so you can confidently guide prospective Members through the decision-making process.

  • Conduct Club tours
  • Follow up with leads
  • Answer Membership questions
  • Sell Memberships and class packs
  • Recommend the best fit for each person
  • Help Members get the most out of Traverse

Keep the Club running beautifully

A great Club experience comes from hundreds of small details. You'll help ensure every space feels welcoming, clean, organized, and ready for the next Member.

  • Restock towels
  • Refresh coffee and amenities
  • Perform regular Club walkthroughs
  • Keep bathrooms, cowork & recovery spaces, and studios guest-ready
  • Laundry
  • Stock merch, cold case, and supplies
  • Support daily operational tasks like emails, texts, and phone calls

Support our community

Traverse is more than a gym. From HYROX races and outdoor workouts to happy hours, run clubs, expeditions, and wellness experiences, our community extends far beyond our walls.

  • Support Club events inside and outside the Club walls at least 4x a year
  • Create memorable event experiences by mingling and interacting with Members and guests
  • Represent Traverse with enthusiasm wherever we go

Who you are

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Love talking to people
  • Naturally notice when something needs to be done
  • Believe details matter
  • Thrive in busy environments
  • Enjoy solving problems
  • Take initiative without being asked
  • Are dependable and accountable
  • Communicate with kindness and confidence
  • Love fitness, wellness, and community
  • Believe hospitality can genuinely change someone's day
  • Are comfortable with sales and the sales process

What success looks like

Success in this role isn't measured only by check-ins. It's measured by:

  • Members who know your name and you know theirs
  • First-time guests who become long-term Members
  • Beautiful, organized spaces that people love spending time in
  • Problems solved before they become complaints
  • Genuine relationships built every shift
  • A community that feels more connected because you were there

Why Traverse?

We're building more than fitness Clubs. We're building places where people feel seen, challenged, supported, and connected. Our team works hard, celebrates together, and believes every shift is an opportunity to positively impact someone's life.

If you're looking for a job where hospitality, fitness, community, and purpose all come together, we'd love to have you on our team. Come help us create the kind of Club people never want to leave.
